One response to “what is a good handmade gift idea for your mothers 40th birthday?”
First you should consider the things she likes and put yourself in her place asking what you would like if you were your mother. That being said, here are a few ideas…
1) A family picture / shadow box makes a great heartfelt gift. It allows you to add trinkets to the frame making it sort of scrap book-esque.
2) Ask your immediate and extended family to write or e-mail a nice letter to your mom and you can compile them in a booklet with pictures. It’s great to look through and reminisce.
3) Create an experience or pamper her. You can create a little throne for her on the couch and rent her favorite movies while you clean the house, cook dinner, etc. Also, one of my favorite birthdays consisted of a scavenger hunt. Each place I went there was a small gift ($5 bill, little necklace, flower) and at the end there was a fairly nice gift. The part I remember though was the excitement of finding the next surprise.
Whatever you make your mother I’m sure she’ll love it. Be creative with it! And remember that the best gift you can give your mother is yourself, as cliche as that sounds
