I would suggest letting your husband take charge of what to buy for his own mother, putting both of your names on it of course. I would honestly wonder why you have to buy a gift for someone who hates you, and why your DH is putting you in this position? I would never expect my husband to decide what to buy for my immediate family without my help and input, and they LIKE him! My mother in law hates me as well, and I finally got to the point where if she’s going to hate me anyway, then I’m going to stop putting myself in the line of fire. Anything that comes from us, or IF anything is sent to her, he has to decide (she blames me anyway, but oh well).
